Inmaculada Chapel in La Viña – Algarinejo
The Inmaculada Chapel is located in the litle village of La Viña, belonging to the municipality of Algarinejo in the Poniente Granadino.
In the Castle District school was built, with a statue of San Rafael, patron of La Viña, who took advantage to give mass. At that time there were no processions in the village except in times of severe drought, the holly was removed to request the miracle of rain.
In 1992, at the expense of the townhall of Algarinejo and with the collaboration of the Malagon Muela family, the Chapel of the Inmaculate Conception was built, when the cult to San Rafael went to lead the cult of the Virgin of the Inmaculate Conception.
In May the 11th, 1993 was inaugurated by the Archbishop of Granada. Each 8th of December the virgin is carried in procession and Good Friday Stations of the Cross is carrie through the streets of La Viña.
