La Puebla de los Infantes

The town of La Puebla de los Infantes is located to the northeast of the province of Sevilla, being adjacent to Córdoba. It is located in the transitional space between Vega del Guadalquivir and the foothills of the Sierra Norte, where Natural Park belongs to a small portion of the term. In 1996 it had a population of 3,591 inhabitants.

The village is located on a plateau that serves as a valley surrounded by mountains, being structured by an east-west, which is the crossing of roads that communicate with Constantina and Lora del Río (west) and Peñaflor (east).

The proximity of the Guadalquivir River has led to the settlement of civilizations as the Tartesians, Turdetanos, Carthaginians and Romans.

During the period of Al-Andalus it was part of the cora Al-Firris with Berber population and the name of Cañebolo. The one of the area came after the Christian conquest by Fernando III.

The Christian conquest was carried out by King Ferdinand III in 1247. This will change the name to Puebla de los Infantes. This period will result in increased population.

With a Moorish rebellion in the year 1264, there were not expelled anyone. It was the only region of Andalusia where they stayed.
