Alamillo Dam and Reservoir – Ecija
The Alamillo Dam was built on the bed of the Arroyo Garrido, municipality of Ecija, province of Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain.
Alamillo is a homogeneous loose materials dam type, it has a height from foundations of 14 meters and a crest lenght of 201 meters.
The Alamillo Reservoir belong to the Cuenca Hidrografica del Guadalquivir (Guadalquivir River Basin) and has a capacity of 0,320 hm3.
Uses of the Alamillo Reservoir
The municipality of Ecija, the largest area of the province of Seville, is located at the eastern end of the province, near to Córdoba and belonging to the region of La Campina. In 1996 there was a population of 37,292 inhabitants, most of who resided in the principal city, the rest of the population of the area living in towns including Cerro Perea, Villanueva del Rey, Isla Redonda and Los Arenales.
