Albuera San Jorge Trujillo Dam and Reservoir

The Albuera San Jorge Dam was built on the bed of the Albuera River, municipality of Trujillo.

Finished building in 1577, Albuera de San Jorge Dam was designed by Francisco Becerra and Sancho Cabrera.

Gravity and buttresses dam with a crest lenght of 143 meters and a height from foundations of 9 meters.

The dam was built vecause of the need for mills near the town to grind beans neighbors. In 1577 was the first grinding mill built. Them they constructed two.

Albuera San Jorge Reservoir has a capacity of 0,300 hm3 and belong to the Cuenca del Tajo.
