Alcollarin Dam was built on the bed of the Alcollarin River, just few minutes from the town of Alcollarín, province of Caceres, Extremadura, Spain.

Alcollarin Dam aims to regulate contributions of Alcollarin River, a tributary of the Guadiana River on its right bank, to improve the guarantees of irrigation of the Hydraulic Complex Canal de las Dehesas.

The Alcollarin Reservoir belong to the Cuenca Hidrográfica del Guadiana and has a capacity of 51,640 hm3.
