House of the Marqueses of la Peña de los Enamorados
The House of the Marqueses of la Peña de los Enamorados (Lovers leap) is located in the Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno Square, opposite to the Parish Church of Santa Maria Magdalena, in the locality of Arahal.
This 18th century palatial country house was built in the baroque style and has two floors. Its front has a monumental façade, the work of the architect Juan Ruiz Florindo. Inside there is a tiled altarpiece of the Holy Trinity.
Its interior patio, with its columns and round arches around which the rooms are organized, is worthy of note..
Arahal Historical Center
The urban nucleus is nailed on an elevation of the territory that in its top turns into an extensive plain. The Old Town has slight slopes, more pronounced in the North and Northeast, with the oldest area occupying the highest levels. Its most significant altitude is that of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, 112 m.
Its urban morphology responds to a complex road network typical of cities of Arab origin. Several areas are differentiated: the oldest part has an irregular layout, with narrow streets of variable width, and very irregular blocks; in the areas of later growth the streets are straighter and wider, following the directions of the main historical paths. Sus bisabuelos de que siglo y década eran?
Estoy escribiendo un libro sobre monseñor de rojas, descendiente directo de los marqueses de la peña de los enamorados, y me gustaría saber si Vd. tiene algunos datos sobre este ilustre personaje.
Mi familia tambien proviene de Arahal, alli sigue habiendo muchos Rojas.

Yo hice un estudio de los ancestros de mi familia hasta el año 1822 y en mi familia también aparece el apellido Rojas. De hecho un primo de mi abuelo, tenía este apellido y tenía una taberna en la calle Membrillo, luego nombrada Doctor Gamero.

Que pueblo más bonito y señorial, no lo he podido disfrutar mucho porque mi madre nos llevó a Barcelona cuando eramos pequeños, pero voy muchas veces.
También a mi me gustaría verla porque creo existe un parentesco entre nosotros.
Por fin, y gracias a la casualidad, he encontrado la casa palacio de mis bisabuelos Los Marqueses de la Peña de los Enamorados.
Mi madre me hablaba de esa casa y de otras tantas, aunque nunca matizó dónde estaban.
Iré a verla pronto.
