The Arcos de la Frontera Dam is located in the Guadalete river, belong to the Cuenca Hidrográfica Guadalete y Barbate, in the municipality on Arcos de la Frontera, province of Cádiz .

The main access to the Arcos dam is restricted to the public but the reservoir can be see from the road.

The Arcos de la Frontera Dam is a gravity dam (resist the thrust of water entirely by their own weight), reinforced concrete and straight plant.

The reservoir has a capacity of 14 hm3.

The reservoir is used to: Irrigation – Fishing – Water Sports

Arcos is located northeast of the province of Cádiz. Its area covers 525.4 square kilometers. Its geographical location is as follows: 36º44’33 “north latitude and 2º07’074” west longitude.

The central courts of the following towns are located in Arcos: Algar, Alcalá del Valle, Algodonales, Espera, El Gastor, Olvera, Setenil, Puerto Serrano, Torre Alháquime and Villamartín.

There are more than 30,000 inhabitants who are spread out in the center of the city and its various rural towns. The average temperature is 18º. The maximum temperatures range between 38 and 43º and the minimum between 6 and 14º.

Arcos is the typical mountain town. It rises above a series of cliffs on the right bank of the Guadalete River and forms this river in a wide meander in its middle course.
