Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Church – Ardales

Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Church is located in the Iglesia Square, next to the Peña de Ardales Castle, in the andalusian town of Ardales.

15th Century

It was built in the 15th century and partially reformed in 1720 next to the medieval fortress, where the old mosque was located. It has a basilican ground plan with three naves separated by horseshoe lancedt arches and completed with a Mudéjar coffered ceiling.

During the Baroque period, some chapels were added. These chapels house procession images. On the outside, there is a Baroque Facade designed in 1723 by Diego Antonio Díaz, a master from Seville. The tower was designed by Antonio Matías de Figueroa in 1775.
