Bollullos de la Mitación

Bollullos de la Mitación is a typical Andalusian and olive village. The only entity of the municipality is the village with the same name located in the middle Region of the Aljarafe in the southwest of the province.

The first reports date back from the Arabic age “Bolullas”, (small Tower) and also “Boro Bollullos.”. However, the origin of this village dates back to Roman times, as the first remains found belong to several Roman villas.

The nucleus of the present town is situated in the vicinity of the Plaza de Nuestra Senora de Cuatrovitas, being limited to the west until the road of Umbrete and the south by the Hermitage Roncesvalles. A first expansion occurs towards the south, and in Christian times towards the current crossing road SE – 620. More recently are the expansions towards the north and east, as well as those produced on the other side of that road, which were produced from the 60’s. At the same urbanization corresponds Cuatrovitas housing complex, to the northwest of the core and no urban continuity with it.
