Castellar de la Frontera is located in the region of El Campo de Gibraltar, in the south-eastern area of Cádiz.

This town has three population centres: El viejo pueblo de Castellar –where you can observe the medieval castle -, the new town of Castellar and Almoraima.

Castellar has a railway station that allows you to be connected with other nearby villages and with the rest of Spain. Besides, it has a bus route that links this town with Algeciras and La Línea. These services complements with a taxi rank.

Due to its proximity to the Parque Natural de los Alcornocales, the gastronomy in Castellar de la Frontera is linked to the game, the venison meat, the roe deer and the mouflon are typical in this town as well as the wild boar, the partridge and the rabbit.

How to get there

To Castellar you can enter through the Mediterranean Motorway N-340 (Málaga –Algeciras), changing towards the local road 369 (Castellar-Jimena-Ronda).
