Cogollos de Guadix Dam was built in 1978 on the bed of the Rambla del Rincon, just few minutes from the Andalusian town of Cogollos de Guadix, province of Granada, Spain.
Cogollos de Guadix is an homogeneous loose materials dam type with a height from foundations of 17,350 meters and a crest lenght of 409 meters.
The Cogollos de Guadix Reservoir belong to the Guadalquivir River Basin and has a capacity of 0,370 hm3

Cogollos de Guadix is located on the northern edge of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, a magnificent backdrop shared with other mountain towns and villages of this area which the Arabs called el Sened. Its Arab past can be seen in the layout of its streets, which form a singular urban area, where stands the Iglesia Parroquial de Santa Maria de la Anunciacion (Parish Church of St. Mary of the Annunciation).
