Fátima Castle – Cardela Fortress – Ubrique
The Fatima Castle, also called the Cardela Castle is located in the Sierra de la Silla, just few minutes from the andalusian town of Ubrique, in the province of Cadiz.
From the ruins of the castle you have breathtaking views of the natural surroundings and the Los Hurones Reservoir.
Fatima Castle was built by the Muslims and today lies in ruins. Constituted defensive bastion who was in control in the western passage to Ubrique river valley.
Apparently there were several clashes between Muslims and Christians to take the position of the castle, at the end of XV century became the property of the Dukes of Arcos.
Today it is a private estate with hunting.
