Gitana Dam and Reservoir – Guadalquivir River Basin

Gitana Dam was built in 2009 on the bed of the Arroyo Azanaque, between the Andalusian towns of Lora del Rio and Carmona, province of Sevilla, Spain.

Gitana is a homogeneous loose materials dam with a height from foundations of 26,6 meters and a crest lenght of 701 meters.

The Gitana Reservoir belong to the Guadalquivir River Basin and has a capacity of 9,700 hm3

Lora del Rio

Lora del Río is a village in the Valle del Guadalquivir. The municipality is divided into three different geomorphologic and landscape groups: the Sierra to the north, the Vega in the centre and the countryside in the south.
