Lora del Río – House of the Lions

House of the Lions (Casa de los Leones) is located in C/ Federico García Lorca with C/ Martínez Montañés (streets), just few meters from the Town Hall, and the Our Lady of the Asuncion Parish Church in Lora del Río, Sevilla.

The House of the Lions was built in 1765, being the owner Don Ildefonso Montalbo Aguilar.

The façade, built in brick with the exception of its façade, still preserves the sgraffito decoration that simulates a padded rig. Its cover in stone, is framed by lonic pilasters cajeadas superimposed that lean on bulbous bases.

The lintel presents the typical “baquetón”. In the northeast corner of the façade there is a viewpoint that has double bays in two arches supported by brick columns.
