Lora del Río – Santa Ana Hermitage

The Santa Ana Hermitage is located between C/ Roda de Arriba y C/ Bailén (streets), on Santa Ana Square, just few minutes from the House of the Columns and the Convent of The Clean Conception of Our Lady in Lora del Río.

Hermitage constructed in the second half of the 17th century, with one only rectangular nave, with straight heading and Wood coffered ceilling in the roof, an element inherited from the Mudejar tradition. The building was remodeled in the 18th century.

It was very related in its origins to the worship of the Virgin of “Setefilla” in the comings and goings that it did to the town. It still preserves the tradition that the bell of its steeple is that which joined the people to ask the coming of the Virgin.
