Lubrín – Almería – Sierra de los Filabres Village

Lubrin is a municipality situated in the foothills of the Sierra de los Filabres, a mountainous land, fit only for agriculture (cultivation of almonds) and livestock.  The town stands at the foot of a cliff, presided over by the parish church, and is known for the hospitality of its inhabitants.

The municipality limits with: Albánchez, Antas, Uleila del Campo and Bédar.

In the midst of a land of mines and quarries, the mining crisis was a severe blow to the people, and although El Tranco marble was also mined here, the decline of both contributed much to the demographic decline of the municipality.

Lubrin is an old town with ancient roots, offering many tasty local dishes, with many rustic and urban areas which deserve a close look, and perhaps a second visit!
Many of the inhabitants of Lubrin migrated to America, in particular California, but more recently the trend has been nearer home, until recently, Catalonia.

Emigration has continued, mainly among the younger population, who have been heading outside the province and towards the capital, which not only affects the town, but also the countryside, contributing to a considerable decline in population.
