Rosario Chapel – Luque

The Rosario Chapel is located just few minutes from the Plaza de España and the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, near the Venceaire Castle in the town of Luque.

The Rosario Chapel is a latin cross with side chapels in the nave of the main boom, many of wich are closed. It is covered with a barrel valult and the other half in cruising. The front cover has a lintel flanked by two tuscan colomns supporting a cornice with triglyphs and a full entablature. On this a very lowered pediment that underlies the coat of the Counts of Luque.

Triglifo: Doric architecture in the form of outgoing box and crsossed by three channels serving decorative element.

Cornice: a molding whose profile has the shape of an “S”, a concavity on the top and a convex lower.
