Maravillas Cave – Aracena
The Maravillas Cave (Gruta de las Maravillas) is located in Pozo de la Nieve Street, just few minutes from San Pedro Chapel and the Concejo Fountain, in the andalusian town of Aracena, Huelva province.
The Maravillas Cave is situated in the town center of Aracena. Because of the richness of its rock formation, it is one of the most visited caves in Spain and one of the pioneers of this kind of tourism in Europe.
The Cave has been open to the public since 1914 and surprises all its visitors with its karstic, stalactte and stalagmite rock formations.
Before entering the cave we recommend a visit to the exhibition in the Reception area, the Mineral Museum an the Toursim Office.
The details on the building leading into the cave, designed by the architect Aníbal González (1923, are not to be missed.
