Osuna – Consolation Square

Consolation Square is located near the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación and few minutes from the Duque Square, in the town of Osuna.

It dates from the middle of the 16th Century. It was given this name after the settling of the convent of the Tertiary Order founded under that orded. It was formerly named Plaza de la Noreta o Plaza del Polvero, as it was the place where lilme was made. It formed a space which was not differentiated from the current Plaza Arcipreste Govante (Archipriest Govantes Square).
