Belmez Municipality

Nestled in the heart of Sierra Morena, Villaviciosa de Córdoba will welcome you with a preserved heritage that will tell you who we are, our streets with white facades, our mountain cuisine; all enveloped by a nature overflowing with life and beauty.

Flavors of nature and maintained tradition, such as honey, pine nuts, game meat and our original wine, with protected territorial demarcation, are also our hallmarks.
A bit of history of Villaviciosa de Córdoba

At a crossroads, specifically in the Praetorium, a variant of the road from Córdoba to Extremadura, and the road from Madrid-Toledo to Seville-Cádiz, passing through Los Pedroches, a hermitage was erected in honor of a Virgin. It was brought from Portuguese lands by a cowboy from Vila-Viçosa, and thus a village arose around it, which received its name in honor of the Virgin of Villaviciosa.
