Town Hall of Santa Cruz de Marchena

The Town Hall of Santa Cruz de Marchena is located next to the Santa Maria Parish Church, at the Andalucia Square.

Its simple building is the work of the Almerian architect Enrique López Rull in 1899, designer of many outstanding Almerian buildings in the transition from the 19th to the 20th century, such as the Plaza de Toros, the Compañía de María school, the Casa de la Peña, the Cervantes Theater or the Paseo de la Caridad, in addition to working-class and bourgeois homes linked to the urban expansion of the capital at that time.

Precisely, the architect resorts to the model of a historicist bourgeois dwelling with two floors to endow the most important public building in the town with a representative character.
