Villanueva de la Concepción – Inmaculada Concepción Parish Church
Inmaculada Concepcion Parish Church – PARISH CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF “LA INMACULADA CONCEPCIÓN”
The church dates from the end of the 19th century and is located in San Antonio Street, in the town of Villanueva de la Concepción. The temple consists of a simple façade with white walls, crowned with a small bell gable or bell tower. The church has only one nave presided by the image of La Inmaculada Concepción placed in a small vaulted niche flanked by a Dolorosa to dress and a carving Nazarene.
The other images are representations of a Sacred Heart of Jesus, a Soledad, Saint José with the Child, Saint Isidro Labrador, two Crucified Christs and a crowned Inmaculada. Probably the images date from the 19th and 20th centuries. The most ancient is the image of San Cayetano with the Child, a carving with certain polychrome areas which could date from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. The inside of the altarpiece is in the Neo-classic style although it is almost 10 years old.
