Farmhouse to be Restored in Gaucin

Farmhouse to be restored with 80 hectares in the Andalusian municipality of Gaucín, Málaga province.

A spectacular estate, with panoramic views towards the Alcornocales Natural Park, located 20 minutes from the «white town» of Gaucín.

The farm has an area of 80 hectares (197 acres) of which 73,5 hectares are wooded grass and 4 hectares of arable land. The mighty Guadiaro River traces the eastern border and spectacular rock formations on the western border of the farm. Access to the property from the MA-512 is through a completely renovated zahora lane and in very good conditions.

The amin house has an area of 436 m2 distributed in 2 floors and retains high gabled ceilings up to 5m high. On the upper floor there is a large space of 70 m2 as an art studio. In addition, there is an 18m2 studio with a panoramic window and an 8m2 loft.

The buildings meet the requirements established in Decree 2/2012 of January 10, article 3.3 to assimilate their regime to that of buildings with urban planning licences.

Efficient insulation materials and traditional clay tiles have been used for the renovation of the roof, retaining the original male tiles to maintain their old character. Inside, the structure has been reinforced preserving its thick stone walls and new round chestnut beams have been installed, as well as new wooden loading points. The robust frames, windows and access doors are also new made of laminated iroko wood with European seaing system and an isolation chamber.

The farm is unique in that it offers an extensive plain for grazing horses, cows, goats, etc. On the slopes, the Mediterranean scrub grows, with rockrose, heather and majuelos. Holm oaks, carob trees and cork oaks create pleasant shadows to shelter and enjoy the tranquility that is breathed in this natural environment through which the Moorish row deer, native and emblem of big game, in addition to the deer. If one wishes, the farm can be incorporated into the existing hunting preserve with the adjoining farms.

At the back of the house there is an extensive orchard of approximately 1500 m2 fenced with a 2m high mesh and reinforced with pig mesh, where there are also 2 wooden chicken coops with their respective fenced areas. The garden has three entrances and one of them for agricultural vehicles.

On one side of the house and old cistern has been preserved to be able to reform it and use it as a swimming pool.

This rustic farm in Gaucin has its own spring whic through two 8000 liter tanks, provide water to the house and allows irrigation of the garden. It is also connected to the electrical network and the Wifi signal is excellent.

Likewise, the farm generates income from the extraction of approximately 1200 quintals of Cork from the cork oak, the next cork extraction scheduled for the year 2021.
